Today, January 20th, 2009, I watched Barack Obama get inaugarated as the 44th President of the United States of America. It seemed an almost far stretched dream from the days of his elections in the caucuas in the Democratic primaries.
But it happened.
Thus, today I embark on my own dream; a dream that I have spoken about ever since I started working in a Pharmacy. It a dream that I have long held for over 5 years, one that I am following now because of the fierce urgency of now.
By no means am I faltering as I always have because of disbelief in myself. My transcript is not as 'stupendous' as my advisor Dr Newland put it, because I lacked direction and didn't see it fit to put my all into getting the best possible grades.
I have sat and watched too long. And now, and tomorrow, and the day after that, I will solemnly put all my effort, my breath and my time towards a profession that is of use to me and everyone around me.
If there's anything I've learnt from working in the Pharmacy for the past 4 years, its that I should never limit myself; rather, I should push myself and see how long I can go.
Tomorrow, I start calling the schools I'm interested in; MCPHS, LIU, Rutgers, to ask and see what I can do to make it a reality.
A new day has come. I will write everyday to document my progress.
The future, no, my future is now.
